We exist to help owners who are looking to exit their business, but who perhaps haven't found the ideal buyer. Perhaps you don't want to sell to a competitor who might incorporate your company into their larger entity or sell to a financial buyer looking to flip your business after owning it for just a few years.

We invest for the long run - we have no need or desire to sell your business on after a few short years. Our investors are looking for opportunities to build upon an existing legacy and run acquisitions for the long term, maintaining and slowly building on what has been achieved already.

Unlike traditional investment firms, once we make an acquisition we allow the owner to exit quickly and completely, by rolling up our sleeves and running the business full-time ourselves, with Nick Hodgson taking the role of MD / CEO.

Nick Hodgson

Director, Tinto Hill

Over the past decade, Nick has been fortunate to work as a manager and leader in a variety of professional settings. These include leading growth and operations teams at start-ups, scale-ups and corporates in the UK and Europe.

Born in Edinburgh, and raised in Biggar (near Tinto Hill, hence the name), Nick grew up in an entrepreneurial household as the son and grandson of small business owners.

His upbringing taught Nick to be resourceful, resilient, and to build strong relationships; traits that have helped Nick throughout his career.

Nick holds Executive MBA (with Distinction) from Warwick Business School.

Nick loves learning how businesses work, and is eager to learn more about yours.
